San Marino v England Betting, Preview - Tips, Euro 2016

Euro 2016: San Marino v England Preview, Betting & Tips

There is little doubt that England will maintain their 100% record in Euro 2016 qualifying with a comfortable victory away to minnows San Marino on Saturday (17:00 BST live on ITV1).

England are undefeated in 10 internationals since their disappointing early exit from last summer’s World Cup in Brazil. They top Euro 2016 qualification Group E with a perfect record of 18 points, with six wins out of as many matches.

Roy Hodgson’s side emerged victorious from an entertaining and high-scoring encounter away to Slovenia in their last international in June. They went behind just before half-time but fought back to lead 2-1 going in the final 10 minutes thanks to a double from Jack Wilshere. Their hosts then equalised, only for Wayne Rooney to score a late winner.

It is highly likely that England will confirm their place at Euro 2016 during the current international break, which sees them host Switzerland on Tuesday following their trip to San Marino on Saturday. Once that is sorted, Hodgson’s primary task will be to whittle down his selections over the past year or so into a coherent squad for next summer’s tournament.

In-form Swansea midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and Tottenham Hotspur’s Ryan Mason are the main novelties in Hodgson’s 22-man squad for this month’s fixtures, for which he is without the injured Wilshere, Danny Welbeck, Jordan Henderson and Phil Jones. Spurs striker Harry Kane (pictured) and the Manchester United duo of Luke Shaw and Michael Carrick return to the squad.

San Marino are intimately acquainted with the lower reaches of tournament qualification groups and are positioned at the bottom of Group E, with one point from a single draw and five defeats. Their goal difference is 19 in the negative.

Pierangelo Manzaroli’s side held out for the opening half-hour of their loss away to Estonia in June, before eventually falling to a 2-0 defeat against the side who sit fourth in the group. While they were comfortably out-possessed and out-shot, they did manage a couple of efforts on target and performed solidly given the limits of their talent base.

Manzaroli replaced long-standing coach Giampaolo Mazza at the start of the qualification process and can take some pride from having ended the country’s 61-match international losing streak by drawing 0-0 at home to Estonia last November. Given the size of the country and the resources at his disposal that represented a highly significant achievement.

San Marino’s last goal in a competitive international came back in September 2013 and they are therefore unlikely to pose much of a threat to the England defence on Saturday. Andy Selva is their all-time top goalscorer, with eight in 68 appearances, but no other current player has scored more than once for the national team.

San Marino vs England Preview’s Betting Tips

England have won all five of the previous meetings between these sides, at an aggregate score of 31-1. They were comfortable 5-0 victors at Wembley last October and also triumphed 5-0 at home and 8-0 away during the qualification process for the 2014 World Cup. San Marino’s solitary goal against England came in a 7-1 home defeat back in 1993.

Even on home soil, San Marino’s primary goal on Saturday will be to keep the score down as much as possible. They have been well organised under Manzaroli’s command and while defeat is inevitable they will hope to limit England to less than the five-goal minimum they have scored against them in each of the previous five meetings between the sides.

England’s place at Euro 2016 will be confirmed if they win on Saturday and Slovenia fail to win away to Switzerland a couple of hours later. Given the gulf in quality between the sides, the three points are already all but assured – as reflected by a best price of 1/80 for an England victory with Paddy Power – and it is only the margin of victory that is up for debate.

Despite the disparity between the two sides there is still a punting angle and these are our preview’s betting tips:

  • Back England -5 on a standard Handicap @ best odds of 6/5 with Bet365. The bet pays out if England win by six or more goals.
  • Kane has not had the best start to the season at club level and will view this match as an excellent opportunity to get a couple of goals under his belt. He scored on his international debut against Lithuania in March and can be fancied to add to his tally on Saturday. Back “Harry Kane to score two or more goals” @ best odds of 11/10 with Ladbrokes or SkyBet.

Germany vs San Marino Prediction and Betting Tips

Germany vs San Marino Prediction and Betting Tips Germany vs San Marino Prediction, Betting Tips and Preview

Probably the most one-sided match of European World Cup qualifiers will take place at Grundig Stadion where Die Mannschaft welcome San Marino. Check out our betting advice and earn easy money on Saturday.

Germany are the most serious team in Europe at the moment and their aim is visibly to repeat the success from WC in Brazil. Their performance is 100% and it will stay after the clash against San Marino as they won five out of five outings. Germany’s goal difference stands at 20 goals scored and 1 allowed. The two sides already met back in 2016 when Germany steamrolled San Marino with 0-8 in Serravalle. The fans at the stadium could witness more than 9 goals since several young players will be looking for their affirmation in the national team jersey.

San Marino are the weakest team in Europe at the moment. Their goal difference stands at -22 while Gibraltar’s is at -20. As expected, San Marino was beaten each time so far. The visitors are without a point in their group and it will be a surprise if they managed to pick up a single point in the remaining matches. In San Marino’s five games in Group C there have been 4.8 goals scored on average.

San Marino are yet to score against the German national squad after 3 games played. They conceded 27 goals up to the date (0-13, 6-0, 0-8).

Germany vs San Marino Prediction

A true ticket booster game on Saturday night in Group C when Germany takes on San Marino. Germany are absolute favourites to win all three points and they will win for sure. Germany have maximum points so far and they scored average four goals per match. With a 5 point lead on 2nd place Northern Ireland, Germany aren’t under any real pressure but for sure they are highly motivated to win all three points. San Marino have lost all their fixtures in Group C so far and their main objective for the match will be strong football in defending. But they dont have any chance to win some points against strong Germany. World champions, Germany have won 8-0 in November and now we also expect lots of scoring chances and goals for them. The Germans also won both meetings during qualifying for Euro 2008 by a ridiculous aggregate score of 19-0.

However our prediction and betting tips for the match Germany vs San Marino Prediction: Over 4.5 goals. Betting odd on this game is not high, so we will try to win more money with bet Over 6.5 goals. Maybe correct score will be 7-0. Have a nice betting day and good luck in earning money with our football prediction and betting tips.

Italy vs San Marino: Preview and Predictions

    International Friendly Match

    Date: Wednesday, 31st May 2017

    Kick-off at 20:30 UK/ 21:30 CET

    Venue: Stadio Carlo Castellani (Empoli).

The Azzurri host neighbor San Marino in a friendly match at Empoli to test some new players ahead of the World Cup qualification match against Liechtenstein on 11th June. Italy also plays a friendly against Uruguay on 7th June.

San Marino are currently ranked 204th by FIFA and are in the midst of another disastrous qualification campaign. With five matches played in the group phase, they lost all matches and conceded a massive 23 goals. They let in 6 and 8 goals against Czech Republic and Germany respectively.

The Italian head-coach Gian Piero Ventura called up a young squad for this friendly, giving extra time for the regular campaigners to recover in time for the important friendly against Uruguay and the competitive fixture against Liechtenstein. Meanwhile, this will be a perfect opportunity for the likes of Atalanta forward Andrea Petagna and Sassuolo midfielder Matteo Politano to make a name for themselves.

    Italy vs San Marino: Head-to-head

The Azzuri bagged a comfortable 4-0 win when the team last met in a friendly on 2013. The Italians went in with a full-strength squad then.

    Italy vs San Marino: Prediction

Almost all bookmakers have few option for this match, considering San Marino’s poor form. However, we believe one must go for goal markets here, with the young Italian players using this opportunity to showcase their talent in front of a packed crowd.
