NEW YORK GIANTS AT DALLAS COWBOYS
KICKOFF: Sunday, 8:30 p.m. ET, AT&T Stadium. TV: NBC, Al Michaels, Cris Collinsworth, Michele Tafoya.
SERIES HISTORY: 110th regular-season meeting. Cowboys lead series, 62-45-2. The Giants and Cowboys have opened the season against each other in four of the last five years. This will be the third consecutive opener for the teams in Dallas. The Giants are 21-28-1 in Sunday night games, including 10-16-1 in road games.
KEYS TO THE GAME: Dallas RB Ezekiel Elliott, fighting a six-game suspension, will play in the opener. And the Cowboys will hope to do better this year against a Giants run defense that last year allowed 88.6 yards per game and held Elliott, the league's top rusher, to 157 yards in two games.
The Giants' offensive line is hoping to gain some momentum against a Dallas defensive front that will be missing defensive linemen Damontre Moore, Randy Gregory and David Irving as a result of league-imposed suspensions.
The Giants, who are looking to uncork their running game, didn't have much success running behind the starting offensive line in preseason, but there is hope that the additional practice reps will have running backs Paul Perkins, Shane Vereen, Orleans Darkwa and Wayne Gallman a lot more comfortable with their timing in hitting the hole.
In the passing game, there appears to be optimism that receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who has been nursing an ankle sprain, will be ready to go.
Even if Beckham doesn't play, Giants quarterback Eli Manning has plenty of weapons to use against the Dallas defense. New York added wide receiver Brandon Marshall and drafted tight end Evan Engram, boosting an offense that averaged 330 yards per game last season.
MATCHUPS TO WATCH:
--Giants WR Odell Beckham and WR Brandon Marshall vs. Cowboys CB Nolan Carroll and CB Anthony Brown. Orlando Scandrick is the Cowboys' best cornerback, but he will be in slot on passing downs, leaving the shaky Carroll and the largely unproven Brown on the outside trying to check Beckham and Marshall. This is a decided mismatch for the Giants, especially with the Cowboys' suspect pass rush.
--Cowboys TE Jason Witten vs. Giants MLB B.J. Goodson. With Keenan Robinson, the Giants' best cover linebacker, still in the concussion protocol, Goodson has had to take on coverage responsibilities in the nickel. Safety Landon Collins said Goodson has made a lot of progress in coverage, adding it's just a matter of matching the speed of the defense. If Goodson isn't fully up to speed by Sunday night, chances are Collins will be there to help cover Witten, historically a major thorn in the Giants' side.
GIANTS NOTABLE ROOKIE: Tight end Evan Engram. The first-round draft pick can play multiple positions. Engram, who finished the preseason six receptions for 75 yards, lined up in-line, in the slot, split wide, in the backfield and in motion, giving coach Ben McAdoo options to create mismatches. In his final two seasons at Ole Miss, Engram caught 10 of 17 deep balls thrown to him for 337 yards and three touchdowns -- a skill the Giants need over the middle.
COWBOYS NOTABLE ROOKIE: Defensive end Taco Charlton. Charlton was the team's top pick for a reason. They needed help at defensive end and he was the best person on the board to fill the need. He will not make a Myles Garrett-like impact, which is why he wasn't picked at the top of the board. But he will play a lot. If he is not the team's rookie of the year, something will have gone really, really wrong.
FAST FACTS: Giants QB Eli Manning passed for 4,027 yards in 2016, his franchise-record sixth 4,000-yard season. He ranks eighth in NFL history with 48,214 yards and seventh with 320 TD passes. . Giants RB Paul Perkins had 618 scrimmage yards (456 rushing) as a rookie in 2016. . Giants WR Odell Beckham Jr. ranked third in the NFL in receptions (101) and yards (1,367) last season. He has 288 catches, tied for most by an NFL player in his first three seasons. . WR Brandon Marshall makes his debut with the Giants. He ranks third among active players in receptions (941) and second in receiving yards (12,061). . Dallas QB Dak Prescott set NFL rookie records for QB wins (13), interception percentage (0.9) and rating (104.9). . Dallas TE Jason Witten caught 69 passes, his 13th consecutive season with 60. His 1,089 career receptions are second all-time among TEs. . Dallas LB Sean Lee had a career-high 145 tackles in 2016, tied for third in the NFL. He has 273 tackles since 2015, second most in the NFL.
PREDICTION: The presence of Elliott and the injury to Beckham seem to shift the tide in the Cowboys' favor at home.
What: Dallas Cowboys vs. NY Giants: NFL Week 1 Football
When: 8:30 pm EST. Wednesday, September 5th, 2012
Where: MetLife Stadium. East Rutherford, NJ
The Dallas Cowboys will travel to the MetLife Stadium to play the New York Giants in a Wednesday night game. This is a tough matchup for both teams in week 1, as the NFC East should be competitive this season and division wins will prove vital.Latest Dallas Cowboys vs. NY Giants Betting Lines
The Cowboys vs. Giants betting lines were released months ago, with the Giants opening as 3 point favorites on the spread. Recently they’ve been bet up to -3.5 at most sportsbooks, and the Giants are now in the -210 range on the money line. The over/under opened at 47 and has been bet down to 45 at most betting sites.

The Dallas Cowboys (8-8 last year) missed out on the playoffs last season due to poor mistakes late in games. Dallas was only 5-10-1 against the spread in 2011-12, which included a 1-1 ATS record against the Giants in their two match-ups last season.
Last year the Cowboys defense ranked 14 th in total yards allowed (322.8 YPG). Dallas ranked 7 th at stopping the rush (93.2 RYPG) and 23 rd at stopping the pass (229.6 PYPG). This year, the secondary should be improved and the Cowboys defense looks to take a step forward.
Dallas moved up to draft CB Morris Claiborne while also drafting CB Brandon Carr. The offense ranked 11 th in total yards (247.1) in 2011-12 and could see improvements in their running game as well. If TE Jason Witten doesn’t play in this week 1 game, the Cowboys could have a tougher time opening up other parts of their offense.New York Giants
The NY Giants won the NFC East with a 9-7 record (8-7-1 ATS) last season and managed to win the Superbowl a second time under QB Eli Manning. The G-Men are a team that like to coast under the radar during the regular season and it seems to work for them based on their success in recent years.
New York made several big changes to the team this year. The Giants no longer have RB Brandon Jacobs or WR Mario Manningham, but in this year’s NFL draft the Giants picked up RB Doug Wilson and WR Rueben Randle in the 1 st and 2 nd rounds respectively.
Last year the NY Giants ranked 29 th at stopping the pass (240.1 PYPG), but they made up for it with the 5 th ranked passing offense (277.1 PYPG). If the secondary and running game improves for NYG this season they could be Superbowl contenders yet again.

MobileSportsBetting.com Cowboys vs. Giants Betting Picks Point Spread
I thought losing TE Jason Witten would have moved the point spread more than a ½ point. Dallas is going to struggle without Witten, and with the Cowboys vs. Giants point spread currently sitting at -3.5 (-115) at BetOnline.com, I’m backing the G-Men at home.Money Line
The New York Giants beat the Cowboys 31-14 at home last year, and they should win again in week 1. The Giants moneyline is currently -210, and while betting on the NYG straight up (SU) doesn’t present much value I will be betting the NYG money line (ML) on my NFL parlays this week.
The current Cowboys vs. Giants over/under is 45 points. I prefer the over here, but even if it goes up to o46 (-110) I recommend this bet. Last year Dallas and New York played twice, with final scores of 31-14 (45) and 37-34 (71). Mobile Sports Betting is picking the over in this week 1, Wednesday night matchup.
Giants Vs Cowboys Spread
With Elliott Available, Cowboys Look to Hold down the Fort at Home Against Manning and G-Men
While his six-game suspension stopped by a Texas, the Dallas Cowboys will still have star running back Ezekiel Elliott on the field when they host Eli Manning and the New York Giants in their Week 1 regular season opener against their longtime NFC East division rivals.
While Elliott and starting quarterback Dak Prescott took the league by storm while leading the Dallas Cowboys to an eye-opening 13 wins last season, one thing the pair failed to accomplish was beating the Giants as they suffered a pair of losses against their longtime NFC East division rivals.
Now, as they get set for their 2017 regular season opener, Elliott and Prescott will look to get their first career victories against the Giants while starting off their 2017 campaign in style. Now, let’s find out which one of these Super Bowl 52 hopefuls is offering the best value!New York Giants VS Dallas Cowboys NFL Week 1 Sunday Night Football Spread
New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys
When: Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 8:30 PM ET
Where: AT&T Stadium, Arlington, Texas
Spread: Dallas -3.5Why Bet the New York Giants Spread At +3.5
New York went 2-2 in the preseason by beating the Jets and Patriots in Weeks 3 and 4 after losing to the Steelers and Browns in Weeks 1 and 2. More importantly, the G-Men were phenomenal defensively a year ago as they finished second in points allowed (17.8 ppg). Unfortunately, Manning and company struggled with consistency on offense in ranking a dismal 26th in scoring by averaging an uninspiring 19.4 points per game.
To address their needs on both sides of the ball, the Giants signed veteran wide receiver Brandon Marshall and offensive lineman D.J. Fluker in free agency and drafted tight end Evan Engram in the first round and defensive linemen Dalvin Tomlinson and Avery Moss in the second and fifth rounds respectively. The Giants rested Eli Manning this preseason as the two-time Super Bowl winning signal-caller did not play in the first or fourth preseason game.
“I think I got enough action over the last 14 years to be ready for the season,” Manning said after practice Monday.
“Whatever coach wants to do and thinks is best for me and the team I’m going to do,” he said. “In the first preseason game you might take six or seven snaps so it’s not going to make a difference in that upcoming season. You get enough reps in practice, enough reps in the second and third [preseason games], and obviously you have 13 other years of preseason and regular season.”
New York beat Dallas 20-19 in last year’s season opener and held the Cowboys to just seven points in a 10-7, Week 13 win at MetLife Stadium. Star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is questionable for this regular season opener after suffering a sprained ankle in the preseason. Why Bet the Dallas Cowboys Spread At -3.5
The Cowboys went 3-1 this preseason by beating Arizona in the Hall of Fame game and Indianapolis and Washington in Weeks 2 and 3 respectively. The Cowboys lost to the Rams in Week 1.
Dallas ranked an identical fifth in scoring (26.3 ppg) and points allowed (19.1 ppg) in 2016 although their pass defense was an issue and appeared to still be one in the preseason.
“I mean, I’m ready,” Prescott said. “That’s all come from camp and just preparing. Obviously, it’s going to be good and it’ll be helpful to take more reps in this upcoming game, kind of get a whole half or whatever it is the coaches decide we get to get going and get into that game tempo, get that game conditioning. But mentally, I know this offense is and the team is physically, we’re ready to go.”New York Giants VS Dallas Cowboys NFL Week 1 Pick
There’s no sense in beating around the bush. I like Eli Manning and the New York Giants to beat Dak Prescott and the Cowboys for the third straight time for a handful of reasons.
Manning and New York’s passing attack should have their fair share of success against a Dallas pass defense that still looks mediocre to me. Defensively, I believe New York’s stout defense can keep both Prescott and Elliott largely in check just like they did a year ago.
The Cowboys are an uninspiring 2-5 ATS in their last seven games against their NFC East division rivals and 1-6 ATS in their last seven games overall. On the flip side of the coin, Manning and the G-Men have gone 6-1 ATS in their last seven games on FieldTurf while the underdog in this series is 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings.

New York Giants vs Dallas Cowboys Odds, Prediction, and Pick
This game between the New York Giants and the Dallas Cowboys is one of the biggest games of the week, and potentially of the entire season for both sides. The game will be played on Sunday Night Football, and will take place in Jerry's World in Dallas. The New York Giants are coming off of a potential upset against the undefeated Green Bay Packers, in which they lost on a last second field goal thanks to Mason Crosby. The Giants look poised and hung around, but in the end the Packers offense was just too much for the Giants. The problem for New York right now though, is that the team has lost four games in a row, and is sitting at 6-6. If they aren't able to knock off this Cowboys team they will be a full two games back of Dallas, and will also be a long shot to be able to make it into the playoffs of a wild card.
The Cowboys on the other hand were looking good after winning four games in a row. While the team wasn't doing it in the prettiest of ways, they were still winning games at the right time and that's what matters. For Dallas though, they are coming off a tough loss to deal with as they went down to the Arizona Cardinals. It happened in a strange way though, as the Cowboys kicker Dan Bailey was set to kick the game winning field goal with a few seconds remaining. His own head coach Jason Garrett called a time out, and essentially iced his own kicker. Dallas will look to rebound now and get to 8-5 and give themselves a two game lead over this Giants team.

This match-up will be an excellent one, and it will be an even better betting match-up in my opinion this weekend. This game kicks off at 8:25pm, and is the prime time game on Sunday Night, so be sure to keep your eye out for it!
Both of these teams are coming off tough losses to deal with, as the Boys' went down in overtime, and we covered the Giants tough loss above here. The most interesting part of this situation though is how badly both teams will need to win this game. If the Cowboys win, they set themselves up to win the NFC East. If the Giants win, they put themselves right back into the heat of things. I'm giving the edge to the team who's at home here. I think that the Cowboys are going to show up big here, and a big edge will come because they are at home. The Giants will have a tough time getting over losing to the lone remaining undefeated team in the league, and they are going to need to be ready against this Dallas team.
It's tough that this line is set at -3 for the Cowboys, and it may be safer to wait until the line moves a bit to see if you can get the Boys' at around -2.5 or -2. Both teams are good, but this Giants losing streak is tough to get over. So in this case, I'll stick it out with the team who is fresh off of the winning streak. The Cowboys will be ready, and they've done a great job forgetting about past games and moving onto the present game as well. I'm picking the Dallas Cowboys to get the win and the cover here.
